馬拉松是為記念古時雅典一名士兵。為了傳遞雅典戰勝這喜訊給雅典國民，士兵由希臘馬拉松跑至雅典，而在任務完成的一刻，他便即場暴斃。為了紀念這名士兵，雅典隨後每年舉行馬拉松賽跑。在香港環境下，這變成一場現代的馬拉松，尖沙咀站與尖東站之間的路徑，就是上班族上班下班必經的馬拉松路線。這馬拉松在香港的環境下變得現代化，人多由機械代步，那些喜愛站在電梯上的人，就被扶手電梯控制速度。
Marathon is a memorial of an ancient Greek soldier. To delivered the message of military victory, the soldier ran from Marathon to Athens and died at the moment when the message was being announced. The people of Greek then held a marathon competition annually to commemorate the soldier. In Hong Kong, that becomes the modern version of marathon. Office workers commute along the marathon race track of the road between Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Machines replace walking. Those who love travelling by escalator are manipulated, synchronizing with its speed, and turns out slower than the normal people who walk.
